Make sure you get your hands on a set of these books!
Sheila Hamilton has been a friend of mine for more years than I care to remember. She has always been a searcher for new ideas and since she started writing her My Route to…” Series of books the great ideas have simply blossomed. People today are more lost and confused that they have ever been. They are looking for support and guidance in a way that’s non-threatening. Sheila’s books are a gift for those that want to improve the soft skills that are so necessary in today’s fast paced world. The books are an easy read, filled with insightful questions and laid out in a unique and imaginative way.
I feel that team spirit has improved vastly. Thanks T.I.P.S.
Since everyone, including the Directors, attended one of the sessions Sheila carried out, I feel that team spirit has improved vastly. There is also a better understanding, within the office, of each other’s different priorities, problems and pressures. We look forward to the next set of sessions.
“Useful practical advice on not just what to do, but how to do it.”
The workshop on Presentation Skills that Sheila Hamilton did for activitymix has definitely benefited all the employees that attended. As well as useful practical advice on not just what to do, but how to do it, (telling us to speak slower would have been little use, but telling us how to make sure we spoke slower was very helpful), she also helped us gain confidence in our presentation abilities. I am sure this will improve the quality of our events from now on.
It was structured well and areas explained in good detail.
Sheila presented the course on Presentation Skills very well and made us feel relaxed. It was structured well and areas explained in good detail. I will take away good suggestions to think about and improve on.
I thought recording our presentations was very beneficial, even if slightly embarrassing. Very enjoyable and useful day.
The discussions were constructive and lead to improved observation skills and interaction with colleagues.
The course: Effective Appraisal Interview Skills, was very well organized and addressed all the issues raised in a very positive way. I felt the subject was made interesting and the trainer gave me a much greater understanding of people interaction. The appraisal exercises were both fun and educational with discussions being constructive and leading to improved observation skills and interaction with colleagues.
The split of theory, group discussion and practical exercises were well balanced.
I appreciated the fact Sheila had moulded the course to appeal to people in the Offshore industry. She was commercially aware of the difficulties we might encounter when exercising our new found skills and offered practical advice to combat objections. I believe 4 and thoroughly enjoyed the advantage of being able to appraise ourselves and other members of the group following the filmed appraisal scenarios. On a more personnel note, I found Sheila to be a very astute, likeable tutor who was clearly interested in our progress throughout the session.
It’s always a good insight to spend a bit of time thinking about my body language and being more aware of it both from and towards you.
Sheila kept the pace up so we didn’t lose interest but not so fast as we couldn’t keep up. The course was very well constructed and presented. The supporting notes are well written with just the right amount of detail and will be useful to look back upon when the appraisals start. As always it’s difficult assessing yourself and I’m never usually aware of what my body language, tone of voice etc, is saying to others so it’s always a good insight to spend a bit of time thinking about it and being more aware of body language both from and towards you. The part that filled us all with some trepidation was the video ‘surveillance’. I doubt if anyone likes seeing and hearing themselves on film but the results were intriguing as everyone actually looked quite relaxed and it was plain to see we had all learnt something from the previous exercises.
Courses are of an extremely high level and tailored to meet the needs of course delegates.
Since 1998, Sheila Hamilton has delivered and continues to deliver courses for Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, to a variety of personnel in a number of organisations. Her courses are of an extremely high level and tailored to meet the needs of course delegates. Courses delivered have been as both part of our short course programme, or as specific in-house design, at the request of Chamber clientele. Sheila operates nationally and has extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of leadership programmes.
Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce has been extremely satisfied with Sheila Hamilton’s style of delivery and post course evaluations would lead us to believe that our client group are also very satisfied. Sheila empathises well with all levels of delegates, in whatever programme she delivers, and her portfolio of extensive skills would enhance any organisational development programme.
The course turned my weaknesses around and improved my presentation skills.
This course is excellent. It exposed my weaknesses and strengths but by the end of the day it turned my weaknesses around and improved my presentation skills.
It helped me a lot to overcome most of my faults.
Didn’t think course would be benefit me but was totally wrong. It helped me greatly… Trainer was excellent in every way… Very informative… It helped me a lot to overcome most of my faults.
Excellently presented in a clear, concise and often humorous way by the tutor.
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It seemed to get better and more enjoyable as the day progressed, always the sign of a good course. Excellently presented in a clear, concise and often humorous way by the tutor.
The video ‘surveillance’, scary but essential!
The use of video has given a good indication of what work I need to do to improve my skills. Scary but essential!
Good skills to take away and use.
Very much enjoyed the course. I found it useful and have good skills to take away and use.
